Taste the North Fork-Wineries!

IMG_0742

One way to Taste the North Fork this Veteran’s Day Weekend is hop on and off the free shuttle bus as it stops at twenty different wineries all along the North Fork. Each is offering something special, whether a discount, a featured vintage, or live music. Here are just a few examples:

On Saturday, Waters Crest Winery (one of my favorites, since winemaker Jim Waters is so kind to my guests) is offering a wine blending class from 2 to 3 pm. On Sunday Jim will host cooking with Tom Schaudel, which includes a food demonstration and tasting that includes a signed copy of Tom’s book, ‘Playing with Fire’. On Monday he’ll give you a personal winemaker’s tour, which is a 45 minute session plus a taste of 4 Waters Crest Wines.

If you like vintage art, Sparkling Pointe Vineyard is offering a special collection of antique French posters, complimented by special tastings from its library of vintages. Bedell Cellars will have live music and special tastings. Sannino Bella Vita will be saluting our veterans by offering a 15% discount to members of the military, and everybody can get a red, white, or pink flight for just $5. The full list of participating wineries and the shuttle stops is here.

Taste The North Fork-Shorecrest

Shorecrest Welcome Picnic

One of the loveliest, easiest ways to enjoy all that our wineries have on offer this festival weekend is to stay at Shorecrest. Here you’ll find calm, quiet beauty, a delicious breakfast, and all the inside skinny I can offer on the happenings throughout the weekend. You’ll find Shorecrest an oasis adjacent to, but blissfully apart from, all the hullabaloo. Of course I’m joining in the spirit of the weekend–stay here and I’ll give you a certificate for a tasting at Sannino Bella Vita Vineyard and a free bottle of their delicious wine.

Cabaret & Wine

Marguerite Volont sings, plays piano, guitar and viola, drawing her music from a rich tradition of folksinging and big band performances. Free; wine available for purchase by the glass or bottle.
