Maritime Festival 2013

September 20, 2013 - September 22, 2013

The annual Greenport Maritime Festival is a three-day event celebrating the nautical history of the Village and of Long Island’s east end. In its 24th year, the festival features a family-friendly variety of activities including a parade, chowder contest, tall ship visits, classic boat displays, and whaleboat races.

During the festival, the streets of Greenport are closed off to cars, allowing visitors to meander through the historic seaport village and enjoy everything there is to offer. Don’t be surprised if you spot a marauding band of pirates as you make your way through the downtown; follow them and you’ll catch the pirate show in Mitchell Park. Enjoy a step back into history at the blacksmith’s shop and the little red schoolhouse.

Call for Artists!

The Maritime Festival is seeking Arts & Crafts participants from the 631 area code. In its 20th year, the festival is a family oriented nautical event with an attendance of over 40,000 people.

We are seeking one-of-a-kind handmade crafts, wearable and usable art, book arts, paintings, graphics, photographs, note cards, etc.  All work displayed must be the original work of the artist. No commercial or mass produced work will be considered. The East End Seaport Museum, which sponsors the festival, reserves the right to remove items from exhibition that do not conform to our guidelines.
