North Fork Restaurant Week and Veterans’ Day Weekend Events

November 1st, 2018 by Abigail Field

North Fork Restaurant Week, which overlaps with Veteran’s day weekend this year, is a great way to try some of the best restaurants on the East End at a great price! Combined with midweek and extended stay discounts at the Shorecrest Bed and Breakfast, you have a great deal on a N Fork Foodie Tour Experience, starting with our gourmet breakfast each day!

Discover the North Fork in the Fall through Spring seasons when it is less crowded and the prices are right. You’ll be surprised by how much is going on, and how beautiful it is. Check out our website to choose a room or house, and booking engine to make a reservation. If you need help planning your visit, call us at 631 765 1570! We look forward to welcoming you to the North Fork soon.

Book a Room, or a Vacation House for Restaurant Week

The North Fork is known for its farm to table culture, and Restaurant Week’s $29.95 3-course prix fixe is the perfect way to sample it. Starting this Sunday, November 4, and running through Veterans’ Day Saturday November 10, Restaurant Week features 29 East End restaurants, many of which are close to the Shorecrest.

Below we list the most conveniently located participating restaurants, most of which are also shown on our Area Page Map. Read on for other fun things to do this November: live music, wine tasting, live theater, and more. Explore both, then book your room at the Shorecrest Bed and Breakfast, because Restaurant Week and Holiday Weekend reservations sell out quickly!

Thinking of a winter getaway for family or friends? Book the whole Inn for for a family or friends reunion, or one of our more than half dozen rental properties. In a rental, younger children can have the run of the house, and most welcome the family pet!

Events Thursday November 8: Holiday Artisan Pop Up Shop at First And South.

First and South is a terrific Greenport Restaurant, not usually open on a November Thursday. But on November 8th it transforms into a pop-up holiday bazaar from 6-9 pm, and serves complimentary roast oysters with a cash bar. (Kitchen stays closed.) Check out details and pictures of some of the participating artisans on their Instagram account.

Events Friday November 9: Live Music and Live Theater

Green Hill Kitchen is another terrific Greenport Restaurant, one committed to being a premier music venue as well as delicious dining spot. This Friday they offer the band Not Quite Dead, starting at 9 pm. Dine and then hang out for the music, or dine at a restaurant week location and then catch the show.

Lieb Cellars Oregon Road is a beautiful Cutchogue vineyard with delicious wines and top flight acoustic music. Reserve a table in the intimate tasting room, though with November ‘crowds’ it may not be necessary.  No buses or limos allowed. This Friday Rob Europe performs from 6-8 pm. Go sip, enjoy the music, and follow up with a late restaurant week dinner. The Shorecrest exclusive Guest Card gives you a discount on wine purchases and free flight tasting for two weekdays.

Northeast Stage opens Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike, which took the Tony for best play in 2013. Show starts at 8 pm. Tickets in advance welcome credit cards, at the door cash and check only.

Events Saturday November 10: Live Music, Wine Tastings, Live Theater

Osprey’s Dominion vineyard in Southold hosts The Earthtones at 1 pm.

Pindar Vineyard in Peconic hosts Bob Carney from 1-5 pm.

Pugliese Vineyard in Cutchogue offers music outdoors–they have a beautiful, pond-side tasing area–if the weather permits where you can enjoy the band Second Chance, from 1-5 pm.

Enjoy the music, the wine, and then go dine on Restaurant Week’s last night! Some restaurants extend their offers through Sunday, but check first.

If you’d rather have a special tour and tasting, consider Pindar’s Champagne, Chopin & Caviar Tour, which runs Saturdays at 2 and 4 pm, and Sundays at 2 pm, reservations required.

Or head to the North Fork’s first vineyard, now called Castello di Borghese, and take the Founder’s Tour. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance.

And again, for live theater, Northeast Stage presents Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike at 8 pm.Get advance Tickets, or at the door with cash and check.

Events Sunday Veterans’ Day, November 11, Live Music and Live Theater

Lieb Cellars Oregon Road is a beautiful Cutchogue vineyard with delicious wines and top flight acoustic music. The tasting room is intimate, and tables can be reserved. No buses or limos allowed. Jeff LeBlanc performs from 1-4 pm. The Shorecrest exclusive Guest Card gives you a discount on wine purchases and free flight tasting for two weekdays.

Live theater continues on Sunday with a matinee performance on Northeast Stage  of Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike. This play is also performed the following weekend, Nov 16th-18th.
