Celebrate Halloween at Shorecrest Bed and Breakfast

October 18th, 2021 by Mark Macnish

Celebrate Halloween at Shorecrest Bed and Breakfast on the North Fork, where skies are dark, and the moon is bright. An eerie fog blows off the Sound, creeping across country roads, while autumn leaves rustle, owls hoot. You get the picture, so get in the mood for a fun filled and spooky weekend.

During the day, pick up a pumpkin or two to take home, from one of our many farm stands. Now is the time for enjoying a variety of local harvest bounty: home-made pies (don’t be shy, try all the flavors and freeze them for later) corn, fall vegetables, apples, pears and stone fruits .

Enjoy a scary night-time visit to a corn maze, or a special harvest themed dinner at one of our many great restaurants. Farm, and ocean, to table is just a short trip here, in the middle of wine country, after all. The food could not be fresher or tastier

After an evening of revelry and celebrating the season with our prize winning wines (and the sprits of the founding fathers that you might run into in one of our historic villages), nestle into your cozy bed at our charming country inn, and wake to a delicious breakfast.

Below are some tips on just how to celebrate Halloween on the East End this year:

Caught short without a costume? There are plenty of places just a few miles from Shorecrest BnB that can help you out.

The Times Vintage, 429 Main St, Greenport

Here there is an extensive collection of vintage clothing, jewelry and accessories like hats and wigs that make you shine like specter. Greenport Village is always a fun place to parade in your get up on Halloween. Stop in at

Eastern Long Island Hospital Opportunity Shop, 321 Main Street, Greenport.

If you lean toward DIY, buying second-hand is where it’s at.

Ye Olde Party Shoppe, 53850 Main Road, Southold

The lower level of this ancient Tudor-styled store has a collection of ready-to-wear costumes.

Now that you are decked out in your frightening finest, here are a few events for you to get your ghoul on.
